You don't work at RCM do you? If not chances are he's kidding himself.

As mentioned it would cost big to do and keep on costing big to run.

no not many of those around. you would need to change pistons rods and other things in the motor. plus a big turbo like a gt35 or bigger, standalone ecu. thats not cheap

i have my car into the 500,s?? and thats been quite expensive but to go the extra mile for the 600bhp id have to worry about driveshafts, my 6 speed gearbox would be no good and constanly off the road for work !! £20k minimun might get him there

Now that does look AWESOME, fantastic spec too, steve, what kind of power/torque do the 6 speeders give up the ghost at?? reason i ask is, i`m having a build winter time around the 500 mark and was thinking of a PPG set, but the 6 speeder and diff sounds good to me...

i have no idea as i was running just short of 500bhp on my 2ltr and its off the road now while work is in progress !! hopefully i will have it back soon and im hoping the car will be running 2bar of boost which should be about 530bhp ish as the same turbo on a 2.5ltr running 1.8bar made 510bhp, im hoping the 6 speed will be ok but i will just have to see as the torque on the 2.5ltr is going to be in the 500's somewhere so it will be fun finding out

you were saying 500's on your and it was on bobs delta dash !! when you based your last turbo on bobs delta dash it was nearly 80 bhp out so are you doubting it will be in the 500's considering the turbo is rated to 550bhp

600nhp is do able, how lons it lasts is another matter though, i don't know of any reliable 600bhp+ impreza's out there.

500 isn't such a strech but 600 is pushing the envalope

Ask him for a copy of the engine spec so we can all have a look? If he's really got 600+bhp I'm sure he'll only be to happy to oblige and show it off!

ROFL, if someone at work asked for my engine spec and a dyno graph from me I think I'd have quite a laugh at them

I am making circa 650, 750 with nitrous, the car has slowly evolved over the last year blowing three engines, trannys, shafts ext along the way.

500hp is a dangerous road car 600 IMO is not street driveable.

I do it periodicaly but it is a very stressfull thing to do you cant relax for one second, you get out of the car exhausted.
the cost very, very expensive.

Try 5, yes thats FIVE uprated gearboxes, and 2 engines in 12 months!

There comes a point where you do say, enough is enough, but only for a while. I took a 6 month break from my car last year after going through 3 gearboxes in 2 months.

Sadly when you get to 500+, and if you have done a lot of the work yourself, it is hard to let go of your target.

3 boxes in 2 months..

What would advice P20SPD for me?? i rarely track my car/cars, i was looking into 450-500 but i think i`m being daft really, i think for road use 400 is more than enough do you?? it`s at 331 /312 now and that`s not shy.. any advice is welcome...

Now i'm that close i can smell 400, more would be welcome. But i know, that the next stage would compromise the driveability a lot, so the car stays as it is now. He says...
