ScoobyPedia - Whats happened to the real one
I notice there is now a link to scoobypedia, but what had happened to the real www.scoobypedia.co.uk
I thought when I saw the link that it was a scoobynet link to www.scoobypedia.co.uk. But this doesn't appear to be the case.
If Scoobynet have bought the rights to scoobypedia, then WHERE's ALL THE CONTENT GONE ??????

I can't get to Scoobypedia.co.uk either, which is annoying as I have used it in the past.
It still appears in the google cache here
Nothing peculiar according to whois:
Guess it is down temporarily? Don't know why. Might be wise to download any pages you read frequently from the google cache, just in case

My scoobypedia(.co.uk) is still here, however my host (1and1) have recently moved it to an 'auxillery server' around two weeks ago, they say because it has a lot of traffic. I'm sorting this out with them now, so normal fast service available shortly. Just a note that I also backup the valuable information within Scoobypedia so nothing will ever be lost.
It's nice that you refer to mine as the "real www.scoobypedia.co.uk", thanks for that. I must admit it is very popular, way beyond my expectations. Just to assure everyone, technical issues aside, this will always be available, always be free, as a knowledge base for you all to use and contribute to.
By reading this thread I have only just learnt of a .com version. I don't know anything about, it's not mine, nor am I connected with it. If someone can fill me in that would be great.
Is the .com version a free knowledge base like mine? I'd be interested to know if you all need me to get involved somehow. You could say I know a few things about this kind of setup ;-)
I must admit it's a shame no one contacted me about this, as have other well know Subaru clubs, to use one common Subaru knowledge-base. That was my 'simple' vision 2+ years ago. The only thing I've ensured is that this will be a free community service. Well, I did add some non-intrusive G**gle Ads that just about cover my web hosting costs.
Thoughts?

Never heard of you fella!!
But in a nutshell we've been asking SN to come up with something to help answer all the "what oil do I use..." & "How do I...." type questions that clutter SN day after day!
And in response the SN team have put together Scooby-Pedia .... and it needs to be linked to the site rather than a "floaty out there somewhere" kinda resource....

The real scoobypedia.co.uk contains so much useful info - why is there a need for anything else apart from somewhere for SN to sell more banner space on?
Well Done Stephen - you have created a big resource
ps - if you need somewhere to host it - gimme a shout

All,
Thanks everyone for all your offers to host Scoobypedia. I'm in discussions with one party and looking at taking up their offer. I need to test it out first before switching.
In the meantime I'm still working with my existing host. They say the site is "taking too much traffic" but will not say what that is nor what my limits are! This is complicated by the fact that their 24/7 telephone technical support is in the Philippines! This type of call center arrangement makes it very hard to get things done quickly, for example they can't even call be back as they are not allowed to make International calls - doh!
I'll get to bottom of this shortly, thanks for your patience.
