ecu problem

hi,got a mines z4 ecu,heard its dangerous to run with the mines chip in so i removed it and put the j1 resistor back in.prob is that the ecu dont seem to work now,car wont start properly,and when u turn the ignition on it takes a few seconds longer 4 all the lights 2appear.any idea y it wont work or is there something else that needs to be done? cheers

no luck mate,or it might not joined up properly,but its in place like it should be,unless it matters which way round u have to put it in?any ideas anyone?
