Another give away is the Spec C's have a manual aerial in the pillar by the drivers door. Normal STi's have the aerial built into the rear windscreen. Was certainly the case for 2003 cars anyway.
Can't see in the pic though as the car is black
I seem to recall though that the Spec 'C' in bugeye form only came in white.
HTH.

Most useful all.
Im fairly sure its a JDM spec STi, but it came in from Malta. Looks like its neither Spec C or Prodrive
It does have IC spray though - do the JDM STi come with this as well as the Spec C?

Well the 2003 JDM STi intercooler spray bottle is in the engine bay while the Spec has a bigger tank in the boot. I would imagine it's the same for the 2002 model.

Hey all,
Might as well introduce myself. You've met my car already!
Just wanted to say, it wasn't sold as a Spec C...just something I heard from a mate and assumed it to be the name for the grey imports.
It was a bit of an impulse buy, rather than following detailed research!! But I paid good money for an STi. If it was a spec C, I think it would have been a bonus!
But I'm pleased with it so far, and it's certainly putting a big smile on my face when I'm in it.
Should hopefully be on here a bit more to glean information from you.
