Cool

Buy yourself a Focus Cossy or a Focus Diesel, better off with them rather than UK Scooby reliability.

Anyone out there in the same dilemma as me ?? I currently have a 3 year old scooby which is fantastic to drive, with the various mods I have.

But I now what a new motor, and the new scub looks crap, and the evo vii is heavier than the evo vi, and therefore slower.

What do I buy ????? Any suggestions welcome.

I'd definitely suggest trying an EVO VI. I bought one after a MY97 scooby.

It's a fantastic car, but might not suit all tastes.

Another car I was impressed with was a BMW M coupe, but they are pretty expensive to buy, if you're working to a budget.

Anil.

A Nobel M12, wait for the Lotus 250? If you require practicality an Accord Type-R, or see about the revised A4 (I assume they will make an S4 eventually)? Depends what you want to spend and level of practicality required.

All depends on your budget Rawsy, but what about a nice 2nd hand or import Porsche Boxster?? I reckon I'll be looking at one of these in a year or two.

Evo's also worth a look - equally stunning car. Elise is another (also depends on how practical the car has to be)

I had an Evo 6 after my MY97, and it was great, but no folding rear seats, so a friggin' palaver with the dogs.

I now have an Integra Type-R which puts a big smile on my face.

I too, went down the Integra Type R route. I did have an order for a new WRX but cancelled it, mainly 'cos I couldn't stand the Daewoo/Hyundai look of the ‘new age’ Impreza (although having driven it extensively now, I must admit it is a sensational drive). I also got a cracking deal on 2 years contract hire on the Honda (at almost half the monthly cost of a WRX). 2 years should also drop me into the Cosworth Focus/WRX Sti decision zone - (if they do something about those headlights!).

Anyway, initially the Integra disappointed. Foolishly I had only ever driven well run-in examples on race tracks (Palmer Autodrome and Millbrook company car day), where they are fantastic. On the road though, a combination of a tight new engine and lack of torque ment I was desperately missing the instant urge of my old MY98. Fortunately, as the Honda passed the 2000 mile mark it has freed up considerably and we're away - it will never be a quick as a Scooby but there is pleasure to be had in thrashing the guts out of the thing on every journey, sliding about under power, utilising the superb (fade-free) brakes etc., But where as in the Scooby you can be relatively subtle about making quick progress, in the Integra, you appear like the typical boy racer, screaming the engine etc., Nice to have a degree of economy though (26MPG+ driven hard)!!

Get a Skyline GTR 34 very cool, they come with a black hole of an exhaust and they don't go too bad either.

Rawsy,

Gotta say i'm in the same boat as you and i think i've decided that my next toy will be a Lotus of sorts.. be it Exige, Elise Sport 160 or a new Elise....

Worth a look if practicality isn't an issue...
