i am sitting here looking at some top gear vids and thought what is the fast car you have driven?

mine is a impreza group a rally car on the isle of mull a few years back when i was a mechanic for a friend.

also driven escort rs cosworth. my bros s2000 various subarus inc 170mph legacy (did not do 170mph customers car but wanted to)
and other cars as work in the motor trade

Ferarri 360. Hit 8.5k revs in 6th, whatever speed that is

In the last two years or so I've also had the privilege of passengering in a 360CS, Noble M12, Ruf 996 and an Atom 300+.

Also driven an Evo 5 Gp.N Roger Clarke, Litchfield Type 20 and 25.

 

What can possibly be faster than a Subaru Impreza.

my 996 turbo. hit the cars top speed.
still reckon the 911 is the best all rounder.

Tvr cerbera, scary! Drove it for a full hour, and it did'nt break down. Apparently it did later that day though.

 

My old Scooby which did 192+ at Bruntingthorpe the same day Andy got 199!

I wasn't driving it that day though

Fastest I did in it was 173mph at Elvington - it showed approx 190mph on the clock!

 

570bhp Lotus Carlton.

 

Caterham SLR thats in my garage for sheer acceleration (sub 4 seconds to 60mph), and my modified Corvette C5 for top speed, which was north of a genuine 180mph.

 

drag spec rs4 engined vw scirocco on throttle bodys and with all the toys with my brothering law driving at the pod its done low 10s.with me driving well i stalled it about 8 time in a 100 yards or so. the clutch is brutal on it and is a right bitch to drive.but i did manage 150mph on a stright bit of track but not the pod (he isn't that stupid) but fearsome and awesome to be in.

 

had a mooch in a customers car of jases recently. tweeked the boost etc and had decat and different turbo fitted. for a wagon kicking out say 280bhp, that was fast...

 

Not driven but been in my mates totally mad TVR that spins in every gear. Love Scoobs but this is proper scary! Cannot keep it in a straight line. Would eat my STI

 

Sat in a Ford Mustang Cobra Terminator 2003 , would of love to drive that car.. altough all that power to the rear wheels is hard to manage, was insane 509whp , later that night the guy that owns it drove into a small light pole because he lost control of it by only slightly touching the pedal in second gear, slided and straight into a pole, repairable tough, its being fixed now :]

I couldn't imagine the trhottle response, supercharger 4tw gotta love that whine

 

a 3speed 1982 gambella porsche bout 650bhp hit 160 down a piece of (private) road my 335bhp sti just hits 100 on. and a westfeild with sbd tunned 20xe vaux engine approx 255bhp felt stupidly quicker than it said on the speedo.

 

This is the closest I've came to something REALLY fast at the North East Motorshow 2006.

Drove a 450 hp cosworth once and apart from my subaru thats the fastest thing I have driven although have had a ride in a lotus carlton when I was younger, **** me that shifted well for a barge.

311 CDi fastest I've ever been 100 MPH (or just under) with a full load

I didn't drive it but a Gallardo SE (he said I could but I was scared) was the fastest thing I've ever been in. He floored it at a ton and before you knew what happened we were doing 175 MPH. Awesome piece of kit.

And in fairness the Gallardo is in another league to the above cars!!

Infact after I took him out in my RB5 WR he sold the Ferrari 360 spider as he (and I) thought my car was a bit quicker
