Default Classic Help

After getting my STi my brother has decieded that he would like a scooby.
unfortunalty he can't stretch to a newage STi so asked me about classic.

To which i answered i know nothing

his only must is that it has to be UK model.
which specs should he be looking out for? did they do an STi on the classics?
also are there any common faults to look out for.

bassically any information that would help him find a decent classic would be great.
also what should he be paying?

sorry for all the seemingly stupid questions but i am new to the scooby camp

They didnt do any classic STi's in the uk with the exception of the 22B (and 2 P1 test cars ), so hes best looking out for a late model with the prodrive performance pack (250bhp) or similar
