Default 07 sti warranty issues !!!!!

Two months back,i sent my 07 sti in for a new steering rack to be fitted under warranty,as it was rattling on un-even surface cornering, thus driving me mad, anyway got the car back and the rattle persisted,so in it went again,my local dealer spoke to technical at I.M who imformed them its a "characterisitic" of the 06/07 sti's with the revised steering rack

Now,a couple of people i know have 06's and they have no problem's with there's,i have heard a few case's of the rattle on here and nasioc, coming from where they have changed the rubber cupling for a steel one to "improve direct steer" but im sorry but i dont buy into this at all,if its a charactorisitic of the car, then they would all do it,and not just a select few!

Any avenue's people surgest for my next move,as i spent £24000 on this motor, love that i do,i just want a non rattling steering rack

Does anyone have pictures of the offending cupling on the rack,so i may stuff an old sock into the join

Also, its been through 3 sets of rear strut's in 6000 miles,am i just plain unlucky or is my car falling apart already ??????????

regards marcus

i've got an 06 and it sounds like a rattle behind the dashboard on a bumpy road, definately steering, but both the demos i drove did it too, think its one you have to live with

Yeah!

i am getting the "put up with it" feedback from international motors

spoken to a few differant dealers around yorkshire, one dealer told me that they have no "local" problems with the steering rattle, but have had several in from sheffield, they are putting it down to our local ****ey roads

Not impressed at all though,i dont remember reading anywhere in the sales booklet that the 07 sti "may rattle"

My 05 JDM does the same. I've always understood that "they all do that sir".

Mine does it too. I can't believe such a 'feature' exists on such driver focused cars!
