guys currently have a full 2.5'' full decat syatem from TSL with firstrom backbox fitted to my p1.

i am toying with the idea of goiing for a new 3'' system or atleast changing the rear box as it is a little to loud and imo it does not have the greatest note kind distorts the burble

can anyone recommend a good replacement system or rearbox? what are peole using?

i have just taken my firestorm off and put the prodrive back box on for the same reason.

not too sure if the new age would fit on the classic any chance you can post a vid or sound clip etc

think my problem is i am getting a little old or something as i used to like it loud but now i dont really like the attention and people staring i am looking to take the turbosmart dumpvalve off and refit the original lol how opinions change

i wouldn't say your getting to old. i'm only 23 and i thought the TSL was to loud and intrusive

how restrictive is the standard sti/p1 back box?

can the same power figures be made with a full decat but with the standard rear box on?

or can anyone recommend a quiter box that still helps to bring out the burble

As a generalisation Revolution systems are regarded as being pretty quiet but with good performace

I run near 400 BHP through mine and it doesn't annoy the neighbours

My problem is that since I was born in the 1950's I think I need a louder system to work out whether I have turned the car on LOL

Steve....I'm running a Bugeye WRX with an Andy Forrest Deadbold TD05 18G but with Methanol injection (Roger Clark and Bob Rawle) to get it up to that figure

There are quite a few P1's about with big BHP figures, including a RCMS monster at 550 BHP .... Maybe the P1 crowd can help ??

IIRC there is little benefit to fitting a 3" over the 2.5" unless running serious power or the 3" is cheaper. A prodrive B/Box should fit your 2.5" system and would be best bet. (as you have no Cats or resonator section to quieten it down)

Otherwise I found Magnex to be well made, fit good and good value for money

a prodrive back box would be off a later model say 01/02 onwards would this fit on my p1 or would it be best to find a original p1 box or v5/6 sti one?

also are teh original boxes alot more restrictive than after markets like TSL, BLITZ ETC

The New age B/Box is better IMHO

The New age B/Box will fit on, but IIRC the rubber Ring Bracket closest to the intermediate section is fitted to the wrong side and wrong way round get some weld it in position like your old one, or have seen a few that don't fit that Ring on ...

ha d a result managed to get hold of a prodrive upgrade original p1 rear box not the standard sti one it was an after market option with p1 stamped on cant wait!!!!!

knowing my luck iyt will be just as loud ha ha
