Evening all just a quick question.I have seen a import sti for sale how do I tell if it is a JDM sti or not.

 

i'm sure all jdm 4 door cars have a have a rear wiper.as for sti 's think it should have a red top engine. i'm sure someone will put you right if i'm wrong

 

Check the rear lights. If its and import it shouldnt have a rear a rear fog light in the rear clusters. It should have had one fitted when it came in to the uk for mot. Usually hanging down below the rear bumper. Also if its a clasic it should have a pink front badge with an i instead of the subaru logo, but of course they could just change that. The car should also have a document to verify when it was imported. I could be wrong but mine has one. Im sure someone will correct if im wrong.

 

ignore the above. (apart from the red top engine part, unless its a 1994/5)

get the code of the build plate, it should start gc8.

post that up.

not strictly true with the fog light, although in general yes, as i fiitted UK clusters to mine for the fog light,but i get what ur saying

This STI for sale has a rear wiper a red top engine and the pink badge on the front is there and obvious way of knowing by just having a gander at the car or not.

 

From the applied model number. If it ends 48D its a WRX and if it ends 47D its a cheaper WRX Type-RA. 4ED or 4DD and youre away.....
