Default Check Engine light

It seems to come on randomley, werther im driving it hard or normal.

there seems to be no engine problems that i am aware of.

The only thing i hav had a problem with is, bing knocked off boost some times, which i pit down to low fuel in the petrol tank, when i fill it back up, it boosts fine.

What could be causing this light to be coming on thn?

No idea what the fault code is.
How do i find it?

I am now keeping the tank above half, when it gets past 3/4 i go fill back up again.

Fault code with the black connectors together on a cold engine was...
2 long and 3 short
And the fault code with the green connectors together with a warm engine..
5 long and 1 short

Im guessing if it is failing it cannot be repaired, so only a new sencer will do the job.

Would there be a reason it has gone? something broken?

Is the MAF causing it ti read this problem too... 51 is Neutral position switch
??
