Vortex to Blitz (part 3)
Well I had to do it........I got myself the Blitz Nur spec R to replace my Vortex Afterburner full system.
The first impression is that it looks a heavy bit of kit but it was suprisingly light. The 3" diameter is instantly noticeable and the mid resonator is huge almost 4".
It was a doddle to fit and didn't catch anywhere on the underside of the car, unlike other systems I have had in the past. Made to measure.
My only concern is that it does't protrude past the rear bumper like the Vortex and i'm slightly concerned it may scorch the paint?
On start up there wasn't much difference in the loudness compared to the Vortex perhaps a little deeper at idle.
Whilst driving, the exhaust note takes on a deeper more aggressive tone which is pleasing (to me anyway) but again not vastly different to before.
I don't know wether I have been reading to much from people that know what they are talking about, but spool up does seem slightly earlier now.
All in all the Blitz Nur R is a very well made bit of kit that sounds awesome and if you are considering fitting one then don't be put off, it isn't that anti social. (I don't think)
