'95 Wrx's Import owners....
Not sure if I have posted in the wrong section(please advise if I have)
But My budget of 4k-4.5k MAX I think will only see me get a standard 1995 wrx import. Is this about right?
ANyway, if people do own a '95 wrx import, please can you possibly post any images, videos and info that may help me within my search.
ANythign I may need to look for, (faults) when buying a car of this age, (also some nice in action footage would be good also)
Any help would be very graftful.
I have had alot of good feedback from some very kind users on here regarding jap performance and want wrx I should get etc... so would also like to say how well ran this site is
Thanks
JQ
Thanks in advance

Mine was £4k in oct 06, 72k miles, slightly modified... all round coil over suspension, speedline alloys, rear Limited slip diff.
The clutch bite point was very high and the clutch only lasted 2 months... one thing to look out for.

There's an immaculate '94 WRX wagon at Japanese Car Imports - AutoBMC for just £3,495. I drove the car last week and, apart from a slightly heavy clutch, it's faultless. The guys there were very helpful and know their stuff too; if I hadn't been seduced by the STI engine then I'd have bought it there and then myself.

I am on my second import, I sold the first when I bought my house to raise some cash but missed it so I have bought the one I have now for £3400 but got it for £2800 part ex and it's only done 34K but mines totally standard,no mods so hopefully fingers crossed it should be ok, You need to look out for signs of wear n tear or take someone with you who knows about cars.

Where did you look killerscoob for your wrx?
Is it an idea to buy a jdm and upgrade the exterior to sti styling etc...?
So relisticly I dont really need more than 4k?
Just trying to consider different possibliltes
thanks for input

No I mean 97, so that you know your putting in SUL 97 and its mapped for it. Surely Jap fuel is 100RON and they'd be mapped for close to that, so although they'll run on it ok, the chance of running lean/det is higher than if remapped for 97?

Paid 4.5k last year for a 42k Import WRX which had a number of Mods already on her...................the only prob I have had is a cracked Radiator. Apart from that I have done 24k trouble free miles.

I decided to put a 60 mile radius on the search from the wigan area, first one I got was only 2 miles away I was lucky really but the one I have now I got from bradford a place called Auto Trader Dealer Pages - Smart Wheels he's got a few in at the moment, he seems quite good on price. If you buy a wrx The interior is the same as sti but with "sti" written on.. it just differnt colours depending on year, it's upto you mate personally I'd buy wrx go on e-bay and try and get some sti seats and then buy a cat back system which gives you sti power all for an affordable wrx price and cheaper insurrence.

JDM = Japanese Domestic Market - just refers to any car sold in Japan, as opposed to the UK/European spec models sold by Subaru UK.
WRX is the badge given to the turbocharged Impreza in Japan. They're mechanically similar to UK models but have more power (around 240-280 bhp depending on year) and are better equipped - climate control, electric folding mirrors etc.
STI models are heavily modified cars based on the WRX, with all but the first year's production being assembled at the factory alongside the regular WRX. They feature a blueprinted engine with 280bhp, stiffer suspension and a host of other strengthened and uprated parts. They're more focused on performance and do sacrifice refinement - personally I don't think I'd want one as my only car, though lots of people do.
