Well a late V plate would be classed as a V6 or MY00, also the MY99 did not have the blue instrument face or blue console panel. The version 6 only had these bits and the reason i know is because my brother Maz (einstein ra) had a V6!

I dont think that its an STI, but to be sure you need to check the applied model number.

Its a WRX, looks like the red line starts at 7k, no IC water spray, no quick rack sticker in the rear window, were the intercoolers also not silver on the STI? no roof vent, has ABS so no DCCD, also no oil cooler by the looks though you would need a better picture than that to be sure, the cooling system should be all STi also (and not red top engine)

I think you got a little over-excited and carried away on that other thread, Chris. It was actually myself I was referring to when I put "note to self"

I have to say, I wasn't actually aware that version 6's came with a coloured dash inlay, which begs the question why the seller believes his car to be a 1998 (Ver 4/5).

It's not even an RA, it has air con and no roof vent for a start.

WRX engine, no dccd or water spray.

That is a common or garden variety wrx import..

Banny,

We've actually started a dedicated section of the site on www.type-ra.co.uk to clear up listings such as this.

This car was added a few days ago here:
