Struggling to Split Short Block

Right EJ20 short block sat on the bench, all bolts removed, for the life of me I cant get it apart.
Anybody got any hints or tricks?

Are you sure you have all the bolts out including the M6 one in the Coolant Transfer Tube located under the baffle/windage tray.
If so get a screwdriver and gently prise the two halfs apart,starting at the rear main oil seal end and work your way around the top of the block to the Oil Pump end.
The block halfs are normally quite tight on the 2 locating dowels.
Have a look at the diagram(ignore the red writing-for something else)

use a blade from a stanley knife and a hammer and work your way around it
once you have broke the seal and got a bit of air between the two surfaces, it will come apart no probs.
