Well yesterday was a sad day for me... watching my 2003 STI driving off down the road with a new owner.
I've replaced it today with an EVO 6. I have to say i am really really pleased. It's currently running 1.6bar with water injection and a whole host of other goodies. I have a rolling road print out of 369bhp at the fly. with 315 @ the wheels.
Whats really impressed me is the handling.... OMG
the turn in is immense, the grip is astonishing.. its so nimble and quite honestly it is far sharper than the STI 8.
We are blessed with some of the very best roads in the UK where I live… they are real test of a cars ability to perform. (A9 north of Inverness…. Gets really good after Helmsdale.) Anyone whom has driven this road will know what I mean.
I’m a paid member here so I will often pop in and say hello and contribute every now and then.
I’ll get some pics of her once it stops raining… tends to do that allot!
Cheers and cheero for now

I had every intension of remapping the car.. (see old posts) Andy F was booked for next week.. but i just decided last week that i wanted to try the EVO.
My scooby had high miles for the year and i felt that spending money on it would be throwing it away.
I have an older car now, granted!! but i have one that is so much faster than my scooby and it also has 30k less miles. Its in just a tidy a condition even thought it is 4 years older...
Oh an i have money in the bank to... not sure what the EVO would like tho... i fancy a nice tubular manifold.! LOL

LOL your mad bud, the evo may turn in sharper, but if youd have bought a proper sti 8 in the first place you'd have been much happier right now a WR1.
You will be sick of the evo in no time, I should know ive had plenty of them.
Give it a few weeks, it will be on the ramps ! sorry.

Very nice
now do you have some pics ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Personally though, think you would have been better off going for a JDM car over the evo, feel the evo takes a little out of the driving experience, makes you feel a little "numb" but they are very capable cars, though I dont think ill ever wonder over to the dark side, like I said, driving one left me feeling "numb" rather than involved![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

You sound like a happy man to me. You are bound to get some bad replys due to the fact that you have suggested that an Evo is a better car, how dare you!!!!!!
Im a big fan of the Evo 6, a little hard and expensive to live with but they are great fun to drive. Not sure if i would ever go for one myself, but horses for courses i say.
Enjoy it

lol, cool so how does it activate then bud ? inlet temp sensor or boost related sensor ?
servicing isnt any worse on an evo than it is on a sti ppp, brakes cost the same, belts are about 800 to change on the sti at a dealer where as evo belt change 500-600 at a dealer.
your problem in thurso, is there is no mitsu dealer and inverness are a complete joke, dont ever put your car there.
I ordered a Fq360MR from there and they let me down big style, I cancelled it.

The only thing i'll have a problem with is the High pressure side of the AYC, everything else my mate and i will do in his garage...

So where is the best place to go for the ayc then. Are inverness not capable of doing that.?

I also moved from an Impreza to my current Evo 6
1 year on and I love my car, wouldnt mind moving to a 7 now though to be honest as I`d like a slighty newer car.
The only time my car has been on the ramps is for mods and servicing so far
People will always state a downside of Evo ownership as being the lack of flat 4 rumble, but to be honest I think mine sounds great in a very different way, since fully decatting (Blitz exhaust), adding an induction kit and removing the dump valve, it sounds just like a flipping rally car now

I love the scooby sound!! it really is fantastic on full chatt.... i am an old ford never dies bloke tho and RS turbos etc always have a soft spot on me. Now would you believe that when the foot is down my Evo sounds like an RS turbo... i love it.. then lift off and hear the recalculating DV chatter like crazy back through the induction kit.

Rob, they will do it for you at seafield but they will grumble like hell as its an import, Ive fallen out with them so many times over that issue and the joke of it is, Ive bought several warriors off them.
To be honest, the aquamist system isnt something id use, the jets can block up and all sorts of other daft problems and you can end up with far to much water getting sent in lol.
If it was a good system, all the rally boys would be using it, but they arent nor are any of the main evo tuners, norris, MAD etc etc.
Plenty of other stuff you can do to it tho bud

To heck with the scooby and Evo comparisons, both great cars if you've moved from one to the other and are enjoying it, or even prefer it, good on ya and enjoy it!! ![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
