Default Traffic light advice

My dad was at a pelican crossing, very small just a traffic light at each side, but the other half was fussing him and he got distracted, and says he might have run a red light.

Only things on the cameras were these sensors on top of the lights, didn't look camera related at all.

Is he looking at an nip or is he worrying over nothing?

Cheers

They are just radar sensors for contorlling the lights, in theory they help only turn the lights red when nothings coming, in my town they seem to wait until traffic is coming and only then go red! Nothing to worry his bed socks off about!

Yeah shouldn't worry bout that. The traffic light jumping cameras are big obvious things, you'd know if one of those were there

i got a ticket for this a while back, wrote back saying that the sun was in my eyes blah blah blah and not heard any more...

i remember the occasion and i just poodled through absent mindedly (there was no one crossing, by the way!!!)

these things happen.

seems a shame to get points for something trivial like this.

wish him good luck

Thanks, i always assumed those sensors on top were for night use to detect any vehicles coming as i know of taxi drivers to flash them to get through quicker.

Oddly enough it seems to work.

dont worry, these only sense breaks in traffic and change the lights to red, if it was a speed camera, law says there must be advisory signs and these camera's must be painted in flourescent, you can sleep easy, unless you hit the poor fella, lol

It does not work, however the radar does its job spots the car and goes green - but people think its the flashing lights that do it. Heard it 100s of times!
