i had this fitted to my old classic wagon and i would like to know what it is as im up for selling it. the previous owner tells me it was a handmade STI item imported from japan. there is also a S?S decat pipe.

anyone reconise what model of backbox this is??
the pipe exit is approx 4 1/2 inch accross

what would it be worth second hand?? and whats a good way to clean it up ??

 

I would say £50-£100 depending on how much somebody wants it.

It looks like an STi Genome backbox (if so they're rare) Thats the only one I've seen with the pink STi embossed on it

(someone correct me if I'm wrong)

 

Mervil is corrct thats a STi Genome back box, they go for good money on Fleabay when they are clean

yeah looks a bit like that one mr fudpucker although the mounting brackets are slightly different by the looks of it. preivous owner paid something like £800 secondhand for it with the decat pipe.

only difference is where the mounts are, the single mount on mine is on the other side but did not fit onto anything. was my exhaust for another model?

The single hanger position depends on whether its for an old age or new age Impreza.

yes that is the same picture you posted. im pretty sure that is the muffler in question its just im unsure what model mine is for?? it was on a classic wagon and looked great but the single hanger didnt fit as it was on the other side. if you compare mine to the one in the pic all 3 hangers are different.
ive checked the part number on the decat pipe and that appears to be a magnex item. unfortunately there doesnt seem to be any numbers stamped into the STi box. if i clean it up what do you recon it would be worth second hand? ive not seen one about like it so got no idea on its value.

 

I had a Genome on my old WRX - from what I recall, yes, the STi logo was 'embossed' but I am sure that it had a rolled 4" tailpipe.

 

no its not a genome, ive seen them and they are rolled with genome written under the Sti logo
