Hi all,
Im seriously thinking of changing my current car for an 05 Type UK STI and have a couple of relating questions.
Ive heard there are a few differences between the 04 and 05 models, is it worth paying the extra money (which isnt much) to get an 05?
What insurance group are they? (20?)
And i iwould want to get one with the PPP already on and ideally with the Prodrive suspention upgrade aswell, but how much are the two packs if i was to buy them seperately from Subaru?
And has anyone got any general advise when buying one?
Sorry for all the questions
Thanks guys
Steve

05 STI comes with the Spec C Suspensions settings. It also has DCCD.
Fitting the Prodrive Spring kit helps handling. Pay about £400 fitted from a main dealer.
If you can, get the PPP option when buying. Obviously the car will be more powerful = faster, plus drivability is improved. Otherwise, pay about £1800 fitted
I'd also suggest getting 18" wheels fitted.
I have all the above, and love my car. If you can get a 05 STI PPP, Spring Kit, 18" wheels, you won't go far wrong.
Insurance will all depends on your age/occupation/location. Most insurance companies recognise with PPP pack on (down as STI305) so insurance is lower than saying your car is remapped.
I'm 33 and pay £680 fully comp (protected)

Once your 25 the insurance won't be too bad (but still expensive) as long as you have decent no claims.

Ive just got a taste for power now and want a car that can put the power down and that handles well to boot. (Had my Ctr stolen off my drive way (hence my username) and then decided to get something different.......something turbo'd
)
Ive always loved Imprezas (as most people do) but have only recently realised how affordable they are
Im currently in a Focus RS which i love to bits but i want a change for the above reasons (My FRS is also the last one made 4501 and i dont really want to put too many miles on the clock)
The Focus is great fun allround but with 270 ish bhp in a Fwd car it can be quite larey
How much am i looking at service wise btw?
Thanks again

Not true, i have pictures and a statement from Ford comfirming that mine was the last off the production line. (Although i have heard that the rest were random) there were cars that were registered after mine (as mine is a 03) but mine was the last that rolled off the product line.

TBH I thought mine was the 5th from last off the production line when I bought it new (as said by dealer), until I read about the random number selection.
Still.......... Loved mine to bits.
