bought a 01 wrx sti which is around 305BHP
was lukin for next steps in modification,
has full STI exhaust and standard sti aif filter
want to put abit of mods on which step 1st?
want a dump valve but dont know which one to get?,
anyone have any recommendations and b4 i get one does it perfect performance at all or will it cause any problems!?
had a punto GT3 which i sussed out but im very new to the scooby engines and mods!?

First part tis to check your insurance is good with mods, just a remap may increase your premium by 50% let alone anything else.
Also the basics for these cars are the highest ron fuel plus octane booster, ie shell v power plus octane booster for instance, they are designed to run 100-102 ron fuel, most of our super unleaded is 97, running lower ron fuel can lead to engine damage on these imports, and adding a dv wont help.

is t safe to put i dump on though?
i run optimax on it regardless the conrods and crank are being replaced now b4 i gt me car bk coz wen i bought it day after heard a ticking noise, took it too scooby dealer then to the garage i bought it from, we negotiated it and they are payin for all work needed to be done!
remapp is around 600
will air filter do anythin and will i hear recirculating dv through air filter?
will dv damage car?
i guess its the token "Pish" tht im wanting!

 

The air filter will give you more induction noise, the dv does naff all though it can cause a lean spot which isnt a good idea.
If you want a nice sound, full decat with a remap, dont do it without though as that will cost you another 3-4k for an engine rebuild....
