Default Fatal accident near Barnsley

Just heard on the news that the driver of a Subaru has been killed in an accident on the A628 near Barnsley.

Sad at any time, but hope it's no-one on here.

Its nowhere near Woodhead Pass, Brierley is between Barnsley and Hemsworth, mostly a 30mph area.

That's why the road was closed this morning then! It's the road with the camera on leading up to the Three Horseshoes. Just around the corner from me Quite a bad blind junction on that road just before it joins the Hemsworth bypass

Bad news and my condolences for all concerned.

But why do the media feel the need to specify "...driving a Subaru..."? You never hear "...driving a Ford..."

Demonising a brand in my eyes.

Wondered if it would be down there somewhere, could only think it was on the bypass otherwise. Used to be loads of accidents on there before the camera went up.

That's the road that was closed this morning anyway, I had to do a detour via Willowgarth to get to work.
Wonder which car it was, i've probably seen it around.

Looks like they actually hit the base of the speed camera too.
Just found a few pictures on the Internet.

Looks to be a legacy estate to me Surprised they mentioned the make, it made me instantly assume it was an Impreza and gave me a different impression about the accident.

Looking at those pics it makes you wonder how they managed to have an accident there, its nowhere near the junction! Overtaking by the camera maybe?

especially as we assume it's an impreza. Could be any other car in the range but the automatic reaction is must be a guy with a big spoiler on his car.

... anyway my condolonces to the family.
