Default Wave at 2008 cars?

Will anyone be giving the scooby wave to the new car when it show up on our roads? Or should we invent a new signal of aknolegment just for the new hatch? Feel free to post you own ideas!!!

I think we should still give a wave as its still a scooby. Remember not everyone liked the bugeye when it first came out.

I will wave. An Impreza is an Impreza.

Anyhow - I saw a few of them driving around Greece.

And I quite like it.

(any comments such as "you would, you drive a bug" will be met with virtual violence )

It will be pointless waving at the new scooby as nobody will see you waving, it comes with a hood so none of your friends or anybody else can spot who has been daft enough to buy one, thats its best design feature.

I am still anti-hatchback for the Impreza but I do now quite like the new car (it's grown on me)... it's just not an Impreza. It is still a Subaru though so why not wave if that is your thing. The bug was a fugly Impreza but it was still in the Impreza spirit, the new car should have rebranded... like the Escort to the Focus, if you see what I mean.

I'll be buying one next year, like the new look quite a lot....

I normally wave at any impreza, but I draw the line at classics as they're usually piloted by chavs and their mates enroute to the nearest MacDonalds

I'm sure there are one or two classics owned by enthusiasts, and petrol heads that are alright... but on the whole they're a Neds weapon of choice thesedays!

You assume someone will actually buy the new impreza.

Are you mad?

You could wave to both the English and Austrailian 2008 models at the same time

So, how many people people on here bought their scooby (classic or otherwise) because of it's looks? it's economy? it's luxury? no, no and no.

You bought them because of 4wd handling, flat four engine, low c.o.g. goes like stink, rally pedigree (thanks colin ) and an expectation of all-round performance.

The new car will still have the above qualities (I hope!)

I like what i saw in japan in june and it will be available with a boot, just look at the u.s. website for a pic.

Could be right there, most of the ads I've seen in the mags I work on are in the likes of Good Housekeeping, Country Living and Cosmo. You know, proper petrolhead publications

I'm sure all those original Escort Cosworth owners were cursing when they saw 1.6 Escorts being sold to people who used them to go shopping in... How dare normal people buy the base model of their car to do mundane things in!?!

Shocking..

Maybe, if I recognise it, and it's not driven by a middle management old duffer.
