The more i see of it, the more i like it. It's new...up to date and all other Scoobs will soon look very dated. Things move on.

I agree mate, things do have to change/update etc but do they have to change soooooo much?
I just dont think that looks anything like an Impreza. (Which for me is not a good thing)

Ho Dear, front end looks ok but the rear looks terrible. Typical hatch shape, i.e. looks to top heavy/bulky at the rear end. The saloon shape is a better option, in my opinion, for a sportier looking car. Come on Subaru let us have the saloon and beef it up a bit too!

So where is the large flared arches etc, again looks like the UK will get crap equivelant of the JDM car i reckon, looks shi*e if you as me.
Why do they do this to us, if they asked the guys(us) who would be their customers for our opinion, then would you have asked them for a hot hatch???.
IMHO of course, each to their own.

Looks better in that vid than any pictures I've seen so far.
Will reserve final judgement until I've seen one in the flesh.![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Didn't like the Hawkeye when it was first released......now I'm tempted to buy one!

I think its going to be great!! All it will take is a new set of rear lights and a different colour. I think the rally car is going to become a contender again and thats something that needed to be sorted out. I love the hawkeye but the rally car just hasnt been delivering at all.

Are the Japanese getting the 2.5, or are they sticking with the 2.0? I always thought they had to keep the 2.0 for homologation purposes. Or am I talking crap?

Looked around a Standard one yesterday, in the flesh ..... I could have been looking around a Focus really.
It will add another car into the overcrowded hatch arena, so will find buyers amongst those who wouldn't be seen dead in a car with spoilers and scoops and suchlike - the base model at £12,000 is cheap and well equiped.
There will simply never be another Impreza like the Classic - it was a car which defined a moment in time, it was right for its time and it suited its time.
But, time moves on, only the Classic Impreza will remain a cult car and those rare beasts with One Owner, and Un-modified, will become the sought after models IMO. Add a Special Edition to the mix and you have an appreciating asset.

I think the Sti is a great looking hot hatch, but the WRX is dead for me. The appeal of previous WRX's was the close resemblance to the Sti and the ability to make it look and go like an Sti with some carefull mods. You wont be able to do this with the new one without spending thousands on new wings, arches and front bumper!!!

Had a look around a new standard Impreza and a chat with the dealer too.
The standard one doesn't look as bad as you might think, but it is a generic hatch shape to appeal to more of a mass market. I thourght the interior, although well equipped, still looked very cheap compared to its competitors...a big draw back for the mass market. The boot is also very small because of a much larger fuel tank (60 ltr i think).
I was also shown a picture of the upcoming STi and it indeed had big flared arches...but not stupidly big.
