What tires?
Got bridgestones RE 070 on 06 sti. Front 2 need changing wearing on outside, think a trip to powerstation for 4 wheel set up and some new tires. Whats everyone using at the mo? only got 3.5k out of bridgestones.
what the price on tires theses days? Cant get thro to powerstation
Subaru quoted me 330 for 2 tires and 4 wheel set up.
Not a bad price but is it cheaper to get tires from internet?

Evo magazine this month rated Goodyear and Vredstein as the best tyres.
Check mytyres.co.uk for prices and add a tenner per tyre for fitting to see if you're getting a good deal from Subaru.

I still remember the atmosphere in his car after the first tight bend on a wet road on those tyres. They say silence is golden, was more a dirty brown in this case!

I got AVON ZZ3's on mine, 215/35/18's for 330 fully fitted, very good value for money, excellent grip in the wet and dry and very good feel!
One of the best tires in my opinion!

very bad in the wet and couldn't even do corners even in the dry
value - yes
life - average
grip - ok for a 1.2L plod around, not for a scoob
These look like realistic reviews

Try BlackCircles online for prices too.
I'm impressed with the Toyos T1-S i bought last time. I remember a lot of others were too.
Just another option for you.

I have Bridgestone RE050's and they are the best tyres I've ever had. They combine amazing grip and last ages!! I've never found a tyre which is able to combine these two things so well. I've had these ones on for nearly a year and a half now and there's loads of tread left almost like new. I've done 20,000 miles on them!

Well, I'll stick by my trusty Falkens ..... I'm quite pleased that you lot don't buy them, as they would put the price up!!
I grew up on Crossply Tyres in the 'Old Days' - attached to each corner of a Capri, for example. When you have driven on those in the ice of a January night you learn how to drive properly ...... maybe thats why I can 'Live on the Edge' and you kiddies need 'sticky' rubber??

My thoughts exactly - running the Yoko's on mine at the minute and am very impressed.
I too have heard good things about the Vredestein's (sp) and like Phil said are going cheap at Mocom at the moment.
But really,3.5k out of a set of tyres is shocking
If it's just the outside that they're wearing then your geometry must be well out mate.

I've recently fitted Vredestein Sessantas and they're absolutely superb. Fantastic grip, excellent turn-in, adjustable on the limit, good ride quality and very quiet too. Before that I ran Vredestein Ultracs which were also excellent, but the new Sessantas lift the bar by a significant margin and in all areas
