Can people give me an idea of what they have paid for the first 1000 mile service on a WRX import, I have just been quoted £140 for what is essentially an oil change?
Seems very over priced to me, I am in Kent so any recomendations of decent dealers not to far away.....

All Subaru dealers will be charging the same. Its an inspection of the car too , checking nothing has come lose, tightening things like the hand brake etc.
Free on UK cars lol

If you had bought a Uk Car the charge is simply the Oil and Filter - about £40?
Thats only £100 cheaper - you saved more than that so you should still be happy?

Still not going to be much cheaper for a full checkover of the vehicle and Oil change at a specialist .............. UK cars get it for FREE - just pay for parts used.

£140 seems a lot to change some Oil it was the first place I called, of course it had the usual sharp intake of breath!

I would use an official UK garage not a specialist for this one. If you need warranty work doing (I had a rear strut replaced) then they can sort it out for you (hopefully they can help even with it being Euro too). Up to you though, but you may as well be safe and start your service book with a nice shiny blue Subaru stamp

Thanks, Whats the C service? ![Ponder2](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/ponder2.gif)
I didn't realise they were doing lots of other checking and adjusting on 1000 mile service, I thought it was just a straight Oil swap. I will be sure to make sure they get all there tools out when they are doing the work!

Just do the service yourself and save the cash. My wrx came from Malta via motorpoint and the Malta dealer was ok about a DIY job as long as you post them receipts for oil filter and oil and a copy of the service schedule with the items of work relating to the 1000 mile service initialled by you. After all we're only talking about engine oil, oil filter, check brake fluid, check disc brakes and pads, check operation of lights, wipers, washers, tyre condition and pressures. UK dealers generally try to rip you off even more if you've got a euro imports so need to watch them. Also need to remember that cars from Malta have a much more onerous servicing schedule due to the combination of climate and short trips etc - however for use in the UK skip every alternate service so service at 1000 miles and then 9000 and every 10000 after that or every year whichever arrives sooner.
Eat your heart out PSL - a service for £20 incl oil and filter or £9.99 with Comma's best
