Hi all. Took my car to a newly opened rolling road last week to check everything was in good working order. To be honest i wasnt that impressed with the results.
Its a 2000 x with only 58k on it.
Its got a green panel filter, sports cat, oval magnex back box, different up pipe but not sure what make and its been remapped by tsl.
First time it went on the rollers it produced 234bhp.
The car is running 1.1bar and everything seemed okay although they did say the maf sensor needs to replaced. They took the maf off, cleaned it and put it back on the dyno. It then produced 248bhp. Im going to be on the safe side and get it replaced tomo. Do you think by doing this it should improve the dyno reading? And to be honest with the mods its had done and the people ive spoken to i was expecting closer to 270bhp??
What do you think??
Regards Dan.

Rolling roads vary a lot! I remember my old 99MY with just back box making 240 at Power Engineering!
In theory, with a good re-map you should be seeing around what you were hoping for, although you may need a touch more boost to make that figure.
As it's a new set-up, you were running it in!![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)

I have a very similar set-up to you on my MY00 UK Turbo W-Reg:
JR panel filter
Ninja Sports Cat d/pipe
Magnex centre decat
Magnex oval backbox
3 port boost solenoid
Took it to Powerstation to be remapped, took readings before and after mapping.
Before 230bhp
After 273bhp/273lbft - mapped @ 1.25bar though.
I changed the MAF just before it was remapped, which was about 18 months ago and it still feels just as strong.

I would have reservations about a RR place that thinks its ok to run with a dodgey MAF and just give it a clean up.
If the MAF is not working properly, it isn't measuring the amount of air going past it correctly, which means it may well be running lean which can lead to a trip to an engine builder.

Once you've got all the bits on I would look at getting it mapped again TBH. Had mine done at the weekend by Andy F (03 WRX) and he's clocked it at about 270bhp with 1 bar boost at 2500 rpm and 1.3 at 2700 rpm
Just got a straight through pipe and decat and replaced the intercooler Y pipe on Adny's advice as the OEM one is very restrictive.

The "cleaning the MAF" bit reads just a tad dodgy. The MAFs on MY99 MY00 cars are thin film technology and will break/degrade with the slightest provocation.
Agree with - get the MAF checked ASAP and/or replaced.

Took my car back to get it on the rolling road. They did a run with the original maf on and it was 248. They then changed the maf and power went up to 252.4 with similar torque at 1.1bar. I still think thats poor. Do you think its worth taking it to get mapped again?? And if so where? I live in the northwest.

It's quite clear that you are running too much boost, reduce it to about 0.8 bar and you will get loads of bhp.
