Seems pricey to me mate. I paid £40 at Stonehouse Autoparts 4 years ago for and its about time I change it now.

Dont see why one make would be better for a car?

I'm sure you'll get a decent battery from halfords, especially if you ask nicely for some discount (say you can get one cheaper, but would like to buy local if possible).

A lot of SN users seem to use Halfords for replacements.

The Yuasa ones were pretty good. Would leave my Landy for best part of six monthe between off-roading seasons and it would always fire up....plus it needed 30second of cranking to get the fuel pressure up (mechanicle pump).

It died when the rough off roading flexed the casing and shorted a cell (quite common on lots of batteries when used for hard off roading). Would still start it but the alternator didn't like it being a 10volt battery and boiled it.

If your going to keep your car a long time, Try a Unipart Samson battery with lifetime guarantee....its a normal 3/4yr battery but they'll replace it for free for as long as you own the car

Don't know what the differences are, but Bosch Asia Silver batteries are 'specially designed' for Far Eastern motors

I bought two batteries for my landy (24v ug) from my local MFR's think the pair cost me £20.. My landy also sits for a month or two between use and has not failed to start..

If my scoob battery needrs replacing, I will replace it with similar battery! SO waht if ist only lasts two years.. its only £20
