type 25 or RA-R
Just thought id say a big hello to everyone on here! Currently I drive an fq340but I fancy a change so i'm on the hunt for a new beast, always liked scoobys and used to have one before the evo, Im thinking that could be my next purchase! I know the new shape is coming out but not really keen on it, a mate of mines got a mazda already dont wanna copy him ha Anyone any clues? I like the sound of the type 25 or the spec c type ra-r what do you guys think?

i considered the S204 but I want a more track orientated car really, i like the look of the rb320 but after reading up on it it seems its just a tarted up uk sti.. I know the jap specs are better with the twin scroll turbos!

A track car either the T25 or the RA-R, I'd go for the latter. Neither will disappoint from what I have heard. Not driven either unfortunately.

RA-R every time, its a genuine STI factory special model where as the T25 as good as it might be is a car that has been developed by a importer.
Having said that nothing wrong with the T25 I would not say no to one, its a very nice piece of kit.

The T25 is a tuners car, not the genuine article like the STI. For that reason alone i feel the T25 cant compete with the RA-R on qudos.

Its a bit like comparing a Hannman or AC Schnitzer built BMW and one built especially by M. The M one will always be more desired as its the genuine articale.

Well I suspect we're not going to agree (not sure I really disagree that much anyway)
I think it's a bit of a stretch comparing BMW Mdivision with STI though
Anyway my T25 is running like a pig at the moment, so I'm not too pleased with any Subaru at the right now

You can't compare the Type 25 to an all out factory tuned sti the ra-r is the genuine article. I would have an RA-R over a type 25 but my view might be biased
How ever the T25 is an awesome machine and if i were looking for a tuned car to save myself a lot of hassle i would be knocking on litchfields door.

Looks like most people are going for the ra-r, tbh I was thinking the same as as people say the type 25 can be built by anyone, saves a lot of hassle mind you. Ive seen a ra-r for sale on litchfields site and heard few good things about them so think ill give them a call, no pics on there tho? Also seen a yellow one and a white one for sale on pistonheads through company called PCM, not heard much about them before, are they new? has anyone ever dealt with them?

Incase ive missed something, theres not much else to the T25. Yes its a great package and works very well indeed but its not an RA-R

from my understanding the first type 25 is just a spec c with a 2.5 bottom end and ast suspension, remap and a 3" turbo back exaust. These parts are widely available. However the new Type25 is no where near as simple, from looking at the website it has a forged cosworth engine, ast suspension, hybrid turbo and a remap and exhaust, again these parts can all be bought.. Im not saying I could do it and all praise to the guys that have done it!! The T25 is an awesome car!
