Question Gearbox Oil

Is this suitable for the Gearbox and Rear Diff?

http://www.fuchs-oil.com/uploads/pics/gear_hyp_01.jpg

TITAN GEAR HYP
SAE 80
SAE 90

Hypoid gear oil for highly stressed gearboxes in motor vehicles, especially for axles that require an API GL-5 oil.

API GL-5
MB 235.0
ZF TE-ML 05A, 07A 12A, 16C, 17B
MAN 342 N

It's £9:65 for 4 Litres and I'm tempted ........

Pete, It's probably OK but will sap a bit of power due to its increased thickness, as the correct oil is 75W90, in a competition situation I'd say no. But for a road car it'll be Okay.

You might just find that gear shifts become a bit baulky as the oil will take more perssure to dissipate between the synchro and the gear surface.

Cheers David ..... the gentle way I drive I'm guessing that I won't lose any sleep over a 1/2 second slower gearchange
