Default Offered this in px for our Evo4RS...

What do you guys think. Looks like a UK model, looking at the number plate and the fact it has full service history. But 300+ bhp from the little mods it has seems a bit extreme? Also, is this a realistic price for one of these?

Any advice welcome...

£180 to reliably tune a WRX up to 320bhp sounds a bit suss IMO.

I had an STI5 which started at 280bhp (i.e. more than a WRX) and it cost a shedload more than £180that to get it to 320bhp. More like £900 IIRC, most of which was a Tek3 remap and full de-cat exhaust.

Running a K&N cone filter without a cold air scoop/feed and just taking hot underbonnet air, with increased boost (via the controller) and VTA dump valve is asking for trouble.

All just IMO of course.

engine rebuild took place in 2006. Depends what spec it was rebuilt to will determine the power. In no way does £180 give you that much more power alone.

IMO, just drive it if you are serious. See if you like it, and compare it to other ones you have driven. If it feels good the get it looked at before you do a deal. If it does not feel good, well then just walk.

Definatly a UK spec. The bright switch gives it away, and the heater controls
If he has a print out for the power figures he's claiming then I woluld be a bit wary.
To get to 330 bhp he will need a bigger turbo than the standard TD04. Also the standard intercooler wouldnt cope!
If he aint got reciepts for work carried out on mods that would take the car up to 330 bhp, then just walk away!!

Nice enough motor, but if it is over 300bhp at the fly wheel I would be amazed. I think he has been on an ego building RR.

330bhp @ 1bar of boost... must be a big turbo lol. 1 bar on the standard TD04 makes what, 250bhp?

I spoke to the guy about it and asked for more details of the engine rebuild, thinking thats where the extra power may have come from. He read out what was on the bill. Hardly a rebuild. It was more of a repair.

He says he does have a RR dyno printout from PJ Motorsport stating 330hp at the flywheel and 250hp at the wheels but im not convinced. Suppose i could ring them.

Any ideas on its value?
