I have a MY99, and is defiantly a 74f, i know this for 2 reasons
1 i have looked at the plate inside the car engine bay
2 i had a spoiler painted in 74f, and it matches my car.
It is form begum (the car) but full uk spek

Kevs right about the rally car, its not 74f, but it is similar
74f is one of the closest to it though that ive seen, well I have a model of the rally car that was painted in teh actual colour of the real thing apparently (cost 50 notes, was a gift, madness 50 notes for a toy car, its still in its box, im afraid to open it for that price) , and it and my 74f are similar (what kev said about the rally car a shade darker is right, but quite similar)

Catflap,
74f is Sonic Blue. It was only available in the UK on the 22B, P1 and Terzo. It was, however, available elsewhere. One of the benefits of imports is not being limited to the colours IM choose to import.
RB5Scott,
I spoke to Mike Wood at prodrive a while ago regarding the colours, as I needed to get some for a model. He suggested I get hold of some of the WR Blue as it is ALMOST identical to the naked eye, although it actually has a different code.

Not too bad but the bottom picture was taken 2 hours and 20 miles after picking it up . I have only a few small ones but dont do much motorway miles so I guess it doesnt get hit too badly.
cheers

Catflap,
I just went into Halfords and asked them to mix up Subaru 74f, they showed me their colour swatch, to make sure the general colour was the same.
They mix the paint up by weighing it(it has about 8 different colours in it!), so the process is pretty foolproof.
The colour match is spot on, and it costs £6.99 for 100ml.
Cheers
Steve.

catflap,
the touch-up (subaru's) is much darker and is quite thick (difficult to apply properly). wouldn't recommend it
the halford's one sounds interesting tho'

To answer Peccy's original question, in our colour book, it's called (Rally Blue / New 555 Blue P)
It's also called Sonic Blue, but that name isn't mentioned.
But as everyone has said, it's not the same as the WRC cars.

Sorry, the Rally cars are much darker than 'Sonic Blue 74F'.
Cars with 74F include: Terzo, 22B, P1 and some European imported cars
The 'New age' Impreza light blue is a different shade/paint code as well.
There was also '555 blue', a fairly dark blue, similar to the rally cars at the time.
The rally car paint is a special mix and has not been available on production cars as far as I'm aware.

Catflap, it could be 74F and be Euro/UK spec because the colour was available in Europe. Like Josh said IM only offered the colour on specials and not as part of the range, where European dealers sold them as part of the normal range of colours.
[LOL does that make sense probably not ]
