Default am coming back - Forester STI

after a year and a half of fun with the Mercedes, I've been drawn back to Subaru again. The reason...well see the pic.

Car currently being prepped/UK converted/modded so should get it in November hopefully.

Mods underway:
1. custom exhaust system
2. induction kit
3. Apexi AVC-R boost controller
4. Walbro 255 l/hr fuel pump & regulator
5. Remap of std ECU (ECUTEK)

Mods planned next:
1. dogproofing !!
2. ICE
3. gauges
4. a full detail
not necessarily in that order...

That's awsome. I wish the Forester STi was offered in the US.

The only thing with Foresters is that people on here in particular, look down their noses at you. Which is ironic considering there are a lot of modded Foresters that would give most people on here a run for their money....

Yeah know what you're saying oh 400 BHPd one.

<< flame suit on >>

Remembering back to when I had the WRX300, there also seem to be a lot of STI drivers on here that don't realise that in a fight they'll get spanked by a PPPd WRX !!

Looks great other than the pink stickers which as usual are gay looking. Black is easily the best colour and anyone looking down on a Forester who owns an Impreza needs their head examining.

There is a new dark grey, which is the new black! Looks a lot better and probably easier to clean!

Can't see the pic's but grey is my all time favourite colour. I will probably look at getting a Forester in 2009 when the kids start getting a bit big for the classic

Think you need to be registered on the site to see it ... for obvious reasons (keeps the riff-raff out!!) as I can see it.

I wouldn't dispute how quick they can be made to be, I simply don't like these things as they are ugly (even by Subaru standards) and for me they don't make sense as a car. But hey, it would be boring on here if we all liked the same things...

They make sense as you can put two bikes in the back, or a load of rubble to go down the dump....or a Christmas tree....try putting a normal average Christmas tree in an Impreza...

Yeah but why would you want to do 0-60 in 4-5 secs with a Christmas tree, two dogs and a family of 10 in the back? A saloon is a compromise as a "sports" car as it has 4 doors and seats in the back... but we get away with it under the "rally" banner. Why make a people carrier so powerful?

Like I said initially though, I'm not knocking it and each to their own but I personally would never drive anything like that.

I think it's a fab looking beastie and was very tempted myself when choosing a new car. It's just that it's so un-performance looking but underneath it is. Classic wolf in sheeps clothing if ever there was one.

If they offerred a UK STi Fozzie with the 3yr warranty et al, I'd be seriously interested....

Buying from Lichfields gives you a 3-year warranty and a car that can be serviced at Subaru dealers as usual...which is near enough the same thing.

I guess you wouldn't like the Audi RS4 Avant either then.....

I wouldn't call it a people carrier either, after all it is an Impreza underneath

That's an estate car like the Impreza Wagon. The Foz is well.... something else. It's closer to a people carrier than it is a "car"... kind of a cross between a people carrier and what we class as a 4x4.

I had the same choice, but at £21k for the Spec D against £28k for an FSTi, my wallet overruled my heart.
My first Subaru was a moddified Forester S/TB and I'd have loved having another one - the higher driving position and the slightly bigger load area is ideal for work.
