Car Values
Right - here is the solution. The Vauxhall website, for a number of years, has posted up Glass's trade-in prices. So, armed with this knowledge, you can ensure you are being given the right cash for the vehicle you are about to hand over.
Here is the link then follow the instructions - I won't give the link direct to the page in case 1) it doesn't work or 2) you need to explain a path to it to someone else.
Then Owners, Value my Car, Continue, then select the brand and scroll through the vehicle description.
I don't know if there is a limit on the age of the vehicle - it may not register all Subaru's, for example. Glass's guide - the book version - only goes back to 1997 currently and doesn't store any values for vehicles older than 10 years.
So, there's your part-ex value. What about forecourt price ? Very roughly, the difference between trade and forecourt is between 18-20% - so mark up the price by this % and you should see where the trader/dealer has pitched their vehicle. Is it now overpriced ?
As I say, it is a guide - but it is the best one available to you for pricing vehicles.
Have fun!!

Subaru Impreza WRX STI Type UK
2.0 Petrol 4-door Saloon
6 Speed Manual Four Wheel Drive
Year: 2005 05
Mileage: 25,000
Part-exchange Price:
Excellent condition: £12200
Average condition: £11000
Below average condition: £9790
Not a happy bunny. It doesn't give a price for a PPP version, but I doubt any car dealer would give you anything for PPP. They'd sell it for more though.

I have found out my Audi is worth £16.1 which means the second hand STi is within budget. Just need to wait till im 25 next month and the insurance drops by £2000 and ill be sorted.
Also just valued the bosses 5 series at only 1k more than the audi, they not happy
