Default spec c windscreen/parts/etc

what do spec c owners do if they crack their (lightened) windscreen and need a replacement on insurance?

presumably its not as simple as a quick and easy replacement via the insurance company without losing no-claims etc etc? presumably the insurance company won't try to source a replacement screen from japan (or if they do, its a long wait?)

and what about in the event of a crash and a (lightened) body panel needing to be replaced. presumably the insurance company would just try to fit a standard sti uk part, or would they be obliged to source the parts from japan?

just curious as to the practicalities of the spec c if problems occur...

anyone had any (unfortunate) experience?

thanks

I broke my windscreen, went through rac windscreens, 8 months later and it was still broken, went to my main dealer (Prosport ) who sourced one in 3 days

They may try & fob you off with standard UK parts ... don't let them get away with it is my advice. You insure a Spec C & probably pay a bit more for the privelege so insist on genuine parts.

A member of staff from a hotel damaged my wheel (kerbed it) a few months ago. I claimed on their insurance & got an original alloy sourced from Japan. They did try to get away with refurbing it mind

I got a crack in mine and autoglass had one shipped in from japan it was 3 weeks before it turned up but worth the wait for the right one, they ask for your chassis no. to make sure they get the right one
O and £1300 quid for a bit of glass thank god it was covered for £50
