sometimes the radiators get a hairline crack at the plastic so small you cant see but leaks when you're driving..

It's going to help if you say where you are!!

Just possible it's leak in a head gasket. This can be tested by a device that looks for combustion gases getting back into the water system. But more likely just a dribble from a joint somewhere. It's a sod when it only leaks when engine is hot so water evaporates rather than peeing onto driveway. Remember you are diluting anti-freeze if you are in a cold part of UK.

Also check the interior I've had cars, (not the Scoob, thank goodness), develop problems with the heater matrix. First thing you notice is that it steams up a lot inside and needs water. Then you notice an odd smell, THEN you notice the smell of mould and damp carpets. Aaaaargh!

I had a hairline crack in a rad and you couldn't see anything leaking at all, just a very fine mist that evaporated (as mentioned above)

im off in the next hour going to take it in for a compression test and see and hope what the blady thing is. i hope its just the radiator and not the head gasket . do you think thats the reason why theres alot of heat coming from the engine bay after a little drive no thrashing jus the odd burst or two ! thanks for the replys Dizzle

I don't think a compression test is going to help.

after a long run, check for bubbles in your expansion tank

it will be a dead give away for a head gasket
