I've just begun commuting 90 miles per day, mainly motorway. Mines a MY00 5door (UK spec - no mods) with about 35,000 on the clock and at the present rate of commuting I estimate it will have covered about 70,000 by the time its three years old. I imported it direct from Holland so appreciate there will be a difference in selling price to a UK car with warranty. I estimate its present worth (realistically) to be about £13500 and in about 18 months with 70,000 miles (realistically) about £7000 - is that about right do you think?

Unfortunately, if you think its about right then I might be selling in the near future – any offers – 1 owner, fSsh, 6-CD, air-con etc.?

I'd say you are about right with your 18 month figure, but would say you are looking at £12-12.5k at the moment.

 

Yep, I'd agree, probably about right for your 18 month figure. Rough guide is to get a Glass's guide and apply the difference to your car at present and a car 18months/70000mls older.

Thanks Guys - well the good news (ish) is if the current selling price is nearer £12.5k then at least the annual depreciation has reduced from £4300 to £3600!
