Hi All,
A couple of quick queries from a newbie....
1.Will be collecting new 02 WRX 5 Door from Ieper in Belgium (small prize for guessing the dealer) in a few weeks. Has anybody experienced problems transporting their pride & joy over the North Sea to Hull? Eg, spoilers grazed on ferry ramps etc? Am I better going thru the tunnel, and doin' a bit of running in on the way up home to Yorkshire?
2.Do the STi mesh foglight covers also fit the 5 door? Are the light apertures the same, as the spoiler seems different to the 4 door. Any views on these covers in conjunction with the Morettes? Car is WR Blue.
Cheers, Harry Boy.

harry,
i bought mine back thru zeebrugge last year (my00).
the ramp looked daunting but i just took it slowly
the north sea was like a mill pond, so no problems there.
just make sure you are first down the gangway to the car deck in the morning - i stood over mine, guarding her from crates of booze and suitcases floating by !! then some woman walked by and said to her daughter "what a beautiful car!" - yeah, i though and its all mine
i did mine on a day return. check with ponsf for special offers (£50?) + car one way.
going by the tunnel makes for a long tiring day

Hi Al,
Thanks for the reassurance - didn't really want to do the thrash up from the South. Think I'll be taking a few rolls of cotton wool and some 'keep off' signs for the return journey.
Cheers, Harry.

Thanks Alan - wise words here! After all, I want to be fresh in the morning and ready to enjoy Scooby heaven!
Cheers, Harry.
PS. Will let everyone know how it all goes. Just need to get a definite date....

Top bloke - Alain that is. I had a few extras added grill, spoliers and colour coding of the sills, and all was A1. If you were thinking about getting the sills colour coded it's worth asking him to do it when it's delivered, a lot cheaper than getting it done in the UK.
Have you sorted out transit plates yet for getting the car back?? If so cancel them, I spoke to the DVLA and they informed that I could drive the car back from the UK ferry port straight home without any transit plates, new regulations for importing or something. Sounds mad I know, driving without any plates but it's a little know fact, give your local office a call. Alain will deliver to Oostende for 3000 bfr, this not only saves you having to travel to Ieper but also needing transit plates on the Belgium side of the water aswell. Unless you've got some real need to go to the dealership in Ieper this is the best way to do it I reckon.
On the ferry you should be able to ungrade to first class so that you get priority loading/offloading and parking with no other cars parked near yours (no paint chips), worth doing IMO.
