My warranty expires in the next few months (MY99), hence I'm interested in finding out more about the extended warranty options before I go to my dealer to get the official line.
How much does it cost?
Does it include / extend Subaru Assist?
Anything major it excludes (ie clutch)?
I'd be really interested to hear from anyone who has extended and have any comments about claiming etc( via e-mail if you want).
TIA,
Chris.

Chris,
mine runs out tomorrow. Got a letter from Subaru inviting me to extend it for 1yr £256 or 2yr £388. These are for 12/24 months or 60k whichever comes first. Unlimited mileage options cost £385 or £578. They were offering £150 Thomas Cook vouchers as a sweetener.
It includes Subaru Assistance. As for the cover, it seems to include/exclude everything as per the original 3 years. Sorry I can't offer any personal experiences on claims.
Should say that I haven't chosen to extend it, my money's going on 30k service + cam belt at the end of the week.
Mike.

Hi Chris
Just been sent the renewal for mine. Got a couple of weeks to decide if I will take it or not.
Direct from Subaru/ IM cost £348 This is for year 5 (i.e. car 4 years old now), up to 60k miles (now done 47,500 so will just be hitting 60k in a years time).
Says on the letter "Will cover all factory fitted parts and labour costs" whatever that actually means I don't know, will be ringing them in a couple of days to confirm the details.
Says it WILL cover Subaru assist (europe-wide) lucky as I will be driving down to Spain later in the year.....

Cheers Steve.
I reckon Europe wide breakdown cover is around £130 to £150 with the RAC / AA / Green Flag, so the prices don't look to bad.
Keep 'em coming though please.

Took out extended warranty last year on my 98 terzo and will be having the electric window motor replaced under warranty tomorrow which would have cost 251 quid so me thinks the rest of the warranty period is paid for! No questions asked at the dealer, you just need to have your car serviced and recorded as before.
If i were you go for it, as although these cars are great they are a bit pricey to repair!
256 quid for a years piece of mind is well worth it.
