Angry I Got All Excited About ...

... the new STi coming here next March and its price point at £24,995 - so much so, that, if the suspension was softer than the outgoing STi, I would probably buy one.

NOW I look a bit further and it's a bit of a con isn't it?

The £24,995 version will have 17" wheels, no folding mirrors, no headlamp wash, no front driving lights, no half-leather seats and only TWO colour choices ..... WR Blue and Pure White!!

£26,995 is what you need to pay to get a spec which should be standard on all cars costing more than £20,000 - let alone £26,995!!!!

Subaru give us a FULL package at £24,995!!!!! or you may just get a bitten hand from those who feed you!

Looks like I will keeping my Classic a while longer - it's lost all its money, so it's not a bad thing

Wait for the special offers to start arriving once the sales don't meet expectations. Even at £27k with maybe 3 years IFC i might well be interested.

Heres hoping Mr Subaru

Nah, we are being shafted IMHO

I don't have a current STi - or an old STi - I have always thought that they were stupidly overpriced .................. however, at £24,995 I was really, really tempted - but, now I find out it is a cut-price spec.!!

I shall be keeping my pockets deep and my arms short!!

Lets look at reality, Option 1 = my car + £23,000 would get me the STi I may want .....

Option 2 - I keep my Impreza, nowt wrong with it - and buy a brand new MX5 for £15,800 as a replacement for my old MX5 .....

Option 3 - Keep what I have, the Impreza is losing nothing, the MX5 is increasing in value .....

Option 1 costs me a loss of about £10,000 in 12 months

Option 2 costs me a loss of about £3000 in 12 months

Option 3 pays me about £1500 in 12 months due to interest and increase in value

Buying new is, and always has been, a mugs game ....... but, it does have its appeal and I may still be tempted - whats money if you don't use it up??

With it's present looks, I MIGHT be tempted if they gave ME that money for mine and threw the new car in for nowt.
Otherwise, no chance.

If I want a chavved up Rover 25, I can get one for a LOT less than those prices in Autotrader

Alcazar, (ROTFL at anyone who buys one at ANY price...........and they said the classic was a chav-mobile).

Sickening considering you'll get the top spec(if you're in Japan), superior JDM car for around £12-14K no doubt!!
