Default Speed Camera

ok, not entirely scooby related, but i was in my WRX when it happened.
could anyone tell me in which direction a fixed speed camera takes it's pictures:

here in fnland, driving on the right. towards a speed camera, speed limit 80km/h, speedo showed 95km/h. car up my **** and car passing in opposite direction.
Camera flashed pretty much just before i passed the camera, literally couple of feet in front of it.
Would it be flashing me, the car behind or the car going away from the camera??
First flash in 16 years of driving, and cars goign much faster than me, but that doesn't really matter.
just to know whether i should expect any kind of fine to drop throught he post.
many thanks in advance

I think you need to know the make of camera ie gatso etc to my mind truveloes face forward and measure an average over a set distance with two cameras, and i think gatso s photo the rear of vehicles although im sure people out there know better

thanks for the replies, judging from the weblink, it looks similar to a PEEK traffic speed camera, but it does say that the truvleo is used widely in scandinavia, but i saw a bright flash, website says truvelo has an infra red flash.
well i guess i will find out if it drops through the door.
thanks

fortunately i don't earn a fraction of that :-), and believe it or not, if you're stopped by police for speeding, it's an on the spot fine, where thay look at your earnings, tax percentage and you get a discount if you have children, more children more discount......

Truvelo is a magenta tinged flash, not infra-red, Peek don't flash at all as they are average speed....
