dude there have been loads of questions like this b4 run a search and you should find your answer.

imo and no offense to wrx owners on here as i have had the pleasure of both i woul dgo for the sti over a wrx any day, imo better alround car depends on if you want to mod it in any way, suspension and engine etc etc, the sti is a better base car, not knocking the wrx but if you can afford the sti go for it and even better if you want to mod one try and get one with a rebuild consiting of loads of forge goodies

just my opinion i am sure others will think differently but the only other thing to say is drive both and see what you think a its you who has to live with the car you buy and you dont want to be driving a wrx and see an sti and wish you bought that instead

The 1995 'STI' is actually an altered production STI Type-RA. It was only available in white, it has a 275PS engine, DCCD (first appearance) and a roof vent... Theyre like chalk and cheese...

If its your first scooby, id go for the WRX. Drive that for a few months and get the hand of them and the sheer power of the super engine.
The gears are very short and youl learn how to use them to your advantage.. i can garuntee you will over-rev when you first get the car. The wrx is more forgiving then the STi block.

probably my skyline has fairly long gears so i will have to get use to close gearing altho i have driven scoobys before, how do u meen more forgiving as in its durability? is the wrx as tunable as an sti

if your planning on modding then the sti is by far better to have than an wrx. the gearing shouldnt be a problem its not that short unless its an ra, in my opinion, its not worth buying a car for a few months then selling for the "better" car as
a:- you will lose money on the wrx
b:- you may not see another sti that you like

cool its not a ra so should be ok, good point about having to trade up again plus the sti is white (like the scoobys in white)

If its a 1995 model year car then it must be a Type-RA, if it is indeed an STI. Its possibly a 1996 model year car, manufactured at the end of 1995, but this would be a production STI V2.
