There are two plastic plug type things in the wheel arch on the edge of the bumper, two funny flat 18mm (IIRC) nuts under neath that secure the base to the chassis rail.. Then under the grille and headlights there are about 10 more plastic plugs..

The little plastic plugs you have to push the pin out of the center.

only if you tow it on two wheels, i.e. rear wheels turning while front wheels are stopped or vica versa...otherwise, from what your saying, you couldnt roll in neutral with out damaging the AWD.

You're totally fine towing it with a rope or an A-frame... But as above towing with a fish-tale style tow truck or jocky wheels will fudge your gearbox.
