who told you tescos fuel 99ron was no good for your car?
Greenergy International Ltd this is the company that makes 99ron fuel
I use both (93wrx) and i get similar performance out of both although perhaps slightly better fuel economy from Vpower.

I'd go for V-Power. Also gets me Shell drivers points
As far as I know theres nowt at all wrong with Tesco 99. I use it if I'm near a Tesco and running low on gas

Sainsburys Super for me all the way ........ it's great.
I have used Tesco but my mpg falls quite markedly - don't know why, but it drops from 30mpg to about 22mpg!!

Jury's still out on this one but the majority seems to rate V-power... it's what I use myself simply because I live by a Shell station and there's another one next to my work, but I've used Tesco 99 and the car is definately quicker running on Shell.

I can't get T99 - no outlet in the whole of the west mids would you believe, shell round here is F'exepensive so I use Sainsbury's usually and have no issues, and certainly seems to make no improvement if I use V-power!
T99 is oxygenated fuel (the Ethanol content contains some oxygen), so the Lambda1 point is slightly richer (about 14:1 instead of 14.5:1 AFR) and so you will get about 5% less economy.

Performance wise I'd say T99 and VP are the same, but I seem to get slightly more mileage to a tank from VP.
I use VP most of the time 'cos the garage is next to where I work, but if my other half has any of those 5p off a litre coupons from the shopping then I will fill up at my local Tescos (thank god I didn't fill up there over the few weeks when they had that batch of contaminated fuel !)
The VP is supposed to have detergents which help keep the engine clean of deposits as well.
