What ECU Should I Get
As my exhaust is on its way out due two a hole in tailpipe and the cat starting to blow, Iv'e been advised to replace the exhaust, I'm thinking of a Blitz Nur Spec straight through to the down pipe.
So I will need to replace the ecu which ones would u recommend. I'm not wanting to highly mod my Scooby but if the exhaust is blowing my engine could be running lean.

You don't have to replace the ecu just for exhaust swop. But if you really want to then I would go for thr TSL live mapping board priced at approx 500 quid mapped, the Simtek will set you back approx 1200 quid.

Sorry guys I've should of put cars details its a 97 STIV5.
Well I asked if I could get away with replacing the ecu and they said without a new ecu your car would run incorrectly and could damage engine.

2 cats, centre and down pipe. If it has a stainless system then just replace the cat that is blowing with a decat pipe and forget about new ecu's you won't need one.

Don't forget chaps that the SimTek is also available for the 99-00 cars and does away with the dreaded crappy MAF.....!

Well I've just decivered the applied code and I'm rather happy its not a my97 infact its a MY99 so does that mean its still a V5 or is it a V6. I'm rather happy bunny, as the dealer said the price of the car goes by condition mileage and age and he said its a 97 so was sold at 6500 now they had a 98 model in which had about 84000 miles on which he was selling for 8500.
So is there anything extra I need to know is the MAF dodgy on these models
