Arrow i guess this is not the best time to sell

the time came a month ago that i decided to sell my uk spec classic my00 to upgrade to an v3 sti coupe or st3. i purchased it for £6500 but looking at the prices now it is unbelievable to see how the prices have dropped on the uk specs as i thought they would hold value. i have had my scooby for a year now and i have spent alot on it, and asking for 5500 is not a lot is it??

any ideas on when the best time to sell would be? at the moment its cristmas so you know what i mean lol.

i guess people find imports more value for money?

thanks

How many Owners?

Many Mods?

A 1 Owner UK car with no mods will always find a buyer.

its got an s/s 3" turbo back system with an 3.5" open neck downpipe (decatted), hks panel filter, 4pot caliper and discs, 16" alloys. thats abt it im not sure but i think its got 3owners have to look in the log book lol. a very nice example....its time for the v3 sti coupe in white to make way.

it could be put back to standard i have all the standard bits that came with it....but these mods should be appriciated as they cost me money and make the car run much better.

Good luck, but standard cars are easier to sell (and worth a lot more) than modified cars.

Also, your statement in the advert, "the car has always been warmed up below 3000rpm and cool down using the turbo timer for 60 seconds" hints at a one owner car.

Not knowing exactly how many owners it has had brings into question your statement that it has always been warmed .......... blah, blah.

Nice looking car though, and good luck!

Selling to the general public (aka via autotrader), this is true and the car is best returned to standard. Selling to an enthusiast with sensible mods is just as easy (i.e. on here or on Pistonheads etc).

You do like your unqualified sweeping statements don't you WRX

lol u may have a different way of reading it, but actually that statement means in my 1years ownership i have religiously warmed it up and cooled it down, previous owner had the vehicle for 4years...full scooby history mate.

Selling an Impreza is something I don't want to have to go through again.

One of the worst - there's currently 1000 listed on Piston Heads and although a lot are sold, its indicitave of there being significantly more for sale than any other make.

Unfortunately buyers can just pick and choose - and unless your car is a special one or very bloody cheap, you will have to be very patient!

But Xmas is defiantely the worst time.

I had considered selling my RA....but what's the point.....it will fetch peanuts...so I guess I'll hang onto it until it becomes a true classic...just like the Mk1 escorts...

Not sure I'd buy a car from someone with the email address kaz_boyracer@hotmail.com

Might be worth setting up an email account along the lines of oldgranny@hotmail.com
