Default Rattling from MY03 WRX Front End - heatshield?

Used my car on Monday for the 1st time in a week and noticed a rattle coming from the front end - sounds like it's coming from behind the dash but might be the turbo heatshield perhaps?

I know it can be difficult to diagnose problems like this over the internet but any advice on what else it could be would be appreciated.

The rattle didn't seem to start until the car warmed up, and I also noticed that when I was driving over new fresh tarmac the rattle went away but came back when I was on older tarmac. It doesn't rattle at idle but does rattle in all gears and when the clutch pedal is on or out.

Car is a MY03 Blobeye WRX with just over 47K on the clock.

have this same rattle with my bugeye and it has been in the dealers 3 times for the same problem and each time i'm told its fixed only to find at 3000rpm the noise is back, getting tired of going back to dealers so any help would also be welcomed, the dealer has changed the heatshield 2 weks ago so i now can rule that out.

I'll see if I can get my local dealer to look at it tomorrow then, or whenever they are not booked up. Bloody annoying, xmas + a new baby due in just over a week means this is one bill I could have been doing without!

I took off the turbo heat shield, sound went away after that. Going to wrap my turbo with one of those turbo heat gloves as a replacement or create my own heat shield with better fixing.

mmmmm,i know one or two people who just cut the heat shield themselves to get rid of the vibration, but didnt remove all of it,only where it vibrates.to be honest it dont really bother me that much,as its only slight vibration, and comes and goes..

Think i've sorted it myself - the front strut brace was loose where the shiny silver bit attaches to the pink strut top bits.
