How loud is a full Scooby Sport exhaust system?
Trying to decide which exhaust to buy for my Spec C. Don't want anything too loud. Have driven a Spec C with a Milltek exhaust - wouldn't want anything louder than that. Any help/advice would be appreciated!
Thanks,

I have got the RCM 3" system on my Spec C, i had the resonated middle section to keep the noise down but thought it was to quite so have put the "Team Ice" rearbox on now and it is very loud

^^ Same on my Spec C I wouldn't call it "too quite" as ST says above more like niceley loud. Any zorst is gonna sound loud on a Spec C remember ...
Team Ice
TX.
BTW the RCM exhaust sounds amazing! Once the revs build to 5000+ it sounds like a racecar!!

I had a full Scoobysport system on my old WRX (bugeye). It was fairly loud as you would expect with no cats. Deep rumble on tick over, growly on full throttle and a few pops and bangs on gear change.
I did it in stages, started with backbox (not much different to standard in noise), then centre pipe (made the rumble louder as got rid of a resonator), then centre cat went (made it more raspy), then the up/downpipe cats went (and for me it was perfect then - turbo spooled quicker, whistling, pops!)
It wasnt loud on the motorway at cruising and no drone but when you booted it, it sounded spot on. Subtle tailpipe.
On my STI, I have gone for a H and S catback but replaced the centre cat myself with the old scoobysport bypass pipe which I had in my loft when I sold the WRX. This looks identical to the SS design and noise is pretty much identical as well. Still have the cat in the downpipe which I am leaving.
As said above, give H and S a call. The chap I saw down there when I had it fitted was a good bloke and the quality is very good.
They certainly seemed to know their stuff and I will use them in the future again.

Good man. Same system as mine but with non res.
I think for the Spec C RallyInfo a Milltek would suit it rather well. Other than that maybe have a word with RCM or a like and see what options you have without making it too loud for you.
Good luck

Rally Info,
Just a bit of advice, if you don't mind.
I got the H&S system about 12 months ago, frigging brilliant!
The blower I had upgraded to, was a VF28.
Aboutb3 months ago, the VF28 gave up the ghost, I got a VF41 (wicked!) 2 weeks later, it stopped as well!!
FFS, what is going on??
Took it to my little Independent Scooby place, they went through everything through a process of elimination, guess what it was??
The Up Pipe Cat!!!
When I took my foot off the "Fun Pedal" the back blast was disitegrating bits of the Cat that was being sucked into my blower over a period of months! And had worn out the bearings on the VF28!!
A large piece was jammed int the impellors of the new VF41!!
It was lucky!
Botom line, I had a DECATTED STI UP PIPE fitted, noo hesitation, different motor.
Lot's of Scooby Techies said they had never heard of anything like it in???????????????? years.
Still it only has to happen to you once.
Good luck.

I'd been under the impression my ScoobySport mid section and back box (Classic) was actually made by H&S and sold under the ScoobySport brand name? I could be stand corrected if wrong? Anyway, my older-type ScoobySport (think they changed suppliers in recent years) stainless steel decat centre and backbox are absolutely great - the perfect compromise, really nice noise but not too intrusive, even at motorway speeds, which is most of my driving. I'd recommend the setup - it also seemed to liberate a few BHP, with the car feeling more sprightly in higher gears at motorway speeds, less back pressure and all that jazz.
