my battery fell out of my fob the other day, found the battery and put back in but didnt work, so i phoned local subaru dealer (monks heath) they said that if the battery is out so long you have to recode it but they cant do it because theres only one person in the garage that knows how to do it, as this is my only fob i am having to use the override code which is a pain, does anyone know anywhere that opens on saturdays in cheshire that could help.
thanks hope every1 had good xmas

Sounds like a scam to me. My spare fob has the back missing. If I swap the batteries and back between my 2 fobs they both work fine. The one without the back hasn't a battery in it for 12 months.

reprogramming a new fob usually involves a freemason-esque series of seemingly random things to do whilst in the drivers seat. some reprogramming info here, it may help. Subaru Keyless Entry, Security Alarm, Immobilizer Key, Remote Start Systems. Most years and models
