Default sti with ppp

after hours of searching the archives i am still none the wiser if my car has ppp fitted to it, its an 02 bugeye and on the logbook it says sti prodrive, but i still have the standard sti embossed exhaust, is there any way of telling if the logbook means prodrive styling and not performance pack, my only other option would be to call either subaru uk or prodrive themselves, just mainly wondering if anybody else had come across this.

told by dealer 265bhp which seems standard sti, just the logbook thats confusing me, thanks

there is a STi prodrive "style" which refers to the styling of the car, not the performance Mods IIRC

PPP would have a Cert, prodrive marked back box and some blue hoses(cant remember which ones though) in the engine bay.

hope this helps.

thats what most of the archive was saying, but after 2 hours i wasn't anymore closer to finding the answer, looks like the log book must be referring to the styling

as blue nose says about 1000 02 Sti came out with "Prodrive style" and only cosmetic changes so only 265bhp. two colours Blue (600)and black (300) in the UK rest were for the EU. IIRC

Prodrive changed from the original 02 STi

Barge board type front bumper
Hi level spoiler
different side skirts
different front grill
dark blue dash

PPP was available for the STi
300bhp
Sports Cat & Second Cat bypassed
ECU
Fuel pump
Back box

PPP for 02WRX
270 bhp
ECU
Second Cat bypass pipe
B/Box
"Y" blue intecooler pipe

IIRC

Get underneath the bonnet and check the downpipe. If it is PPP then it will have the sports cat which should be fairly easy to spot. Also, the cat by-pass pipe that sits between the centre and downpipe (exhaust) will be a straight-ish pipe rather than a catalyst.
These should be another tell tale sign.

Defo a Prodrive Style. Can`t see your exhaust very well though to see whether its Prodrive or not.

Ant

BTW welcome
