![Question](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
In a position to purchase a new motor so i took an 07 sti Hawkeye with ppp out for a spin today and wow! Forgot how much i missed my old P1!
Car is WR blue sti with ppp and the same spoiler found on the GB270 (which im not keen on and would prefer to swap for the standard sti spoiler?)
What are your views on the Sti Hawkeye? What is the difference between Hawk and Blobeye?
Also anyone got some pics of a WR blue one?

They are remarkably cheap at the moment, but may get cheaper after the new STi hits the streets?
About £14,500 on AutoTrader with 3,500miles - 2007 car

Hawkeye has gimmicky dials.I think the red clocks and green facia looks a bit goofy.
Both have DCCD(which I've never touched)
Later cars have different PCD's for the wheel lugnuts which may hamper your choice in after market wheels.
Neither are particularly pretty in std guise
I found the gearbox ratio's abit oddly spaced on both particularly 5th&6th
The Hawk(with PPP)will be torquier and easier to drive slowly(if that makes any sense?)
For a motorway cruiser I would choose the blob.
Headlights way way better with Hawk.
Fly by dire throttle can be a pain sometimes too

You might be better of with an import if you intend to tune and want more bang for your buck. Jap Imports come with the better spec'd engines which use equal length headers and a twinscroll turbo system. If you intend on doing any track days then i'd go for either a JDM sti or JDM sti spec c which will hold it's value much better then a uk 2.5 sti.

I prefer the Scoob to an EVO... but its a personal thing, have a drive of an EVO and see what you like yourself. However, they are a bit more costly to run than an Impreza is.
I'm a big fan of my Hawkeye and dont regret my decision to buy at all.![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Cheers,

Having had a classic, followed by a MY02 STi with PPP and now a MY06 JDM STi Spec C (after trying a UK STi with PPP), I would suggest the JDM route as much better IMHO. How much you've got to spend will change things as well....
Personally wouldn't go for the Evo as never liked the looks, saying that I prefer the new one over the new STi (flame suit on!).
<------ View my scooby for a WR blue one.

Evo 8 over a spec c lol. The evo is a good car but the spec c is a better car IMHO for performance and comfort. Here's a video of the evo 9's vs the JDM sti and spec c Subaru STI spec-C & A-Line -VS- EVO IX & MR - Video
